Sam Lavorato, Palma: The talented distance ace won the Pacific Division and Salinas City Meet cross country titles last season, placing second at the Central Coast Section Division IV finals.
Just a junior, Lavorato used a spring of track to build speed and improve his endurance for the fall season. He was ranked as high as No. 6 in the state last fall in Division IV.
