The 5th annual Monterey Junior Beach Open Volleyball Tournament will be held Friday on the shores of Monterey Municipal Beach.
Eighteen beach volleyball courts will crowd the beach near Wharf 2, showcasing 130 traveling age group double teams from the state of California.
Among those competing locally for IMUA are Grace Shepherd, a member of last falls Herald All-County volleyball team for King City, and Carmel three-sport all-leaguer Soana Laulotu.
Sponsored by the IMUA Volleyball and Beach Club, the two-day event will run from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Cheyenne Rice from Templeton Hidh school who also played for Imua and went to Nationals in Minnesota will be playing in the beach open tournament as well!
