Pacific Division baseball

While three teams are separated by just one game, the path to the title would seem to favor Alvarez, who controls its fate down the stretch.
Alisal certainly made things interesting after beating the Eagles 1-0 in eight innings Monday to pull even in the loss column.
What concerns me about the Trojans is will they have enough pitching to carry them through a four-game in five day stretch because of make up games.
Pitchers can only pitch a limited amount of innings each week. JC Maravillo used up eight innings in arguably his biggest outing of his career in shutting out Alvarez.
If Alisal can get past North County today and a much-improved Seaside squad on Thursday, it will play Alvarez for the title on Friday.
The Trojans were a combined 4-0 against North County and Seaside, with two of the games decided by one run and another by two.
All Watsonville can do is hope both teams lose a game. Alvarez has a game left with winless Pajaro Valley before facing the Trojans. Watsonville closes with North Salinas.
