Gabilan Division track

Palma did what it hoped to do at Tuesday's track and field trails, as did Salinas in the girls division.
Yet, so did undefeated San Benito in both divisions.
With six places counting towards points in tonight's Gabilan Division finals at Gilroy, depth will dictate the outcome of both divisions.
There's very little drama in who will likely become league champions in their respective events.
Where the potential points lie in chasing a team title in a number of events are the lower places. The potential for swing points is high in at least eight events in both divisions.
Salinas may run off with eight league titles behind Brooke Oleson and Kayla Clayton. But it has to product points in other events to unseat the reigning champion Balers.
Isaiah Blanco will go into the finals for the Chieftains as the favorite in the 200 and 400 - two events where the reigning five-time champions could produce 18 points. The same can be said for the 1,600.
But can Palma squeeze more than a couple of points out of both hurdle events, the high jump and the long jump.
In a meet that could come down to three points, an unexpected fifth or sixth place from an unsung hero could decide the outcome.
