Alvarez-Alisal baseball

Two teams that have never tasted a championship find themselves in uncharted waters today when the first place Trojans host Alvarez in the first of three games this spring
With the aid of a six-game winning streak, Alisal has vaulted itself into first place while the Eagles quietly sit just a game back.
The Trojans, who have never been in first place this late in the season, have relied on the arms and bats of JC Maravillo and Ruben Gomez to an 8-1 league start.
Alisal has been clutch in tight games, going 4-0 in the Pacific Division in games decided by a run, as different players have stepped up at the plate each game.
The Eagles are 7-1 since an opening season loss to put themselves in title consideration talk. Evan Perez and Eric Gomez combined for a no-hitter in the teams last outing.
Last year Alvarez took two of  three games against Alisal. The team on the road has won the last two games.
Dating back to last year, the Trojans have won seven straight league home games.
