Alisal-Watsonville baseball

Thanks to a five-game winning streak, the Wildcatz have climbed back into title consideration, while Alisal is fighting to get through a mid-season slump.
Fortunately for the Trojans, three straight losses prior to beating North Salinas on Monday, came against non-league opponents.
So it has not effected their positioning for a shot at the programs first ever league title.
Alisal has struggled since falling 2-1 to Alvarez back on April 7, putting them in a tie for the Pacific Division lead prior to spring break -- which stretched out 14 days between league games.
Two of the Trojans losses have been by a run while the other was by two runs. So it's not like they have not played well.
Alisal and Watsonville split its first two games, with each winning at home. In both games, four runs won it. The Trojans haven't scored four runs in a game since April 3.
The Widlcatz meanwhile have scored 42 during a five-game league winning streak behind hot htting Jo Jo Vargas.
Ruben Gomez has been arguably the leagues best player with his effort on the mound and at the plate for Alisal, leading the team in five different offensive categories.
