Alisal-Alvarez baseball

One of these teams will be alone in first place tonight -- weather permitting.
For three weeks, the Trojans held sole possession of the Pacific Division lead before seeing their six game winning streak snapped by co-leading Alvarez on Wednesday by a 2-1 result.
Alisal has not faced a lot of adversity this spring in getting off to the programs best league start in school history at 8-2.
The Eagles surge to the top should not have come as a surprise as they have won 10 of their last 11 overall games behind the arm of Ivan Rocha, who pitched a gem in the win over Alisal.
Now the series shifts to Alvarez, where it has dropped three games this season. The Trojans have bounced back from each of their last two losses to go on winning streaks.
Prior to the setback, Alisal was 6-1 in games decided by two runs or less while Alvarez was just 2-3.
And while a win will put one of these teams in first place, there is still one more meeting between them in the season finale on May 12 at Alisal.
