St. Patrick-St. Vincent-Palma basketball

State Northern California Division IV Finals
Saturday's game
No. 3 St. Patrick-St. Vincent, Vallejo (26-7) at No. 1 Palma (25-4), 6 p.m.
The Bruins have had little trouble through their first three games of the state tournament, having beaten their opponents by 74, 35 and 18 points.
The big one for St. Patrick-St. Vincent was avenging a North Coast Section title game loss to Lick-Wilmerding in the semifinals last Tuesday, posting a 73-55 win.
That came on the road, where the Bruins will be Saturday against the reigning Northern California Division IV champion Chieftains, who held off Central Catholic to advance to the finals.
Palma's road hasn't been as cushy as St Patrick-St. Vincent's, as it's had to battle to knock off Menlo and Central Catholic.
An argument can be made that the Chieftains are battled tested. It won't hurt that the game is home, where Palma has won 36 straight home games.

SPSV is considered one of the top teams in Northern CA talent wise. They can compete with the best when they are playing well but do have some down games with inconsistency. Palma while seeded higher is actually an underdog in this one. This will be the Chieftains toughest match up to date. The Chieftains will need to play their A game and better to win this one but being home does help.
