No one has put together a better stretch in their last 10 games than the surging Lobos, who are 9-1 during that span.
Sitting a game off the pace in the Coast Conference South Division to rival Hartnell, the Lobos will face a Foothill squad that has won 21 game this season and is a game out in the North Conference.
Four players are hitting over .400 for MPC, including Seaside product Marielle Tuazon, who arrived late from the basketball team without skipping a beat, hitting .483.
Carmel grad Lauren Salvati is spraying the ball around at a .481 clip, with a team high 39 hits and 15 walks, compiling a .585 on base percentage.
North Salinas product Serena Castaneda is hitting .475, having driven in a team high 32 runs while ripping four bombs for the Lobos, while Malia Usrey is hitting .422 with 30 runs batted in.
Pitching has been a strength for the Lobos as one time North Salinas High head coach and Northern Illinois assistant Keith Berg has found a pair of gems in Sally Bowles and Shayla Castaneda.
Bowles has been the ace at 14-3 with a 1.27 earned run average, while Castaneda is 7-2 with a 2.12 ERA.
Berg has built himself a program in just his second season as 11 of the 12 players on the roster are freshmen.
