CSUMB softball

 Cracking the Top 25 in the nation in Division II, the 11-2 Otters open up a four-game series today with a doubleheader at 9-5 CSU-San Bernardino.
 CSUMB is off to a 7-1 California Collegiate Athletic Association start this spring behind freshman hurler Hayley Fein, who is 6-1 with a 2.15 earned run average.
 Lusi Stanley has sizzled at the plate for the Otters, hitting .552, sharing the team lead in runs batted in with Julia Garcia with 17.
 Garcia, last years Western State Conference Player of the Year at Ventura College, has also hit three home runs.
 As a team, the Otters are hitting .372 with Courtney Hennings batting .528, having scored 19 runs in 13 starts.
 CSUMB also sports a .978 fielding percentage, having handled 328 out of 337 chances.
