Ryan Arambula has yet to allow a run in two starts and 10 plus innings for CSUMB, while Jeffery Ahern sports a 1.53 earned run average in four starts stretching over 17 innings.
In addition, Bryan Granger, who hadn't pitched in two years after suffering an arm injury, has a 3.27 ERA in four starts while San Benito grad Greg Steinbeck is 2-1 in four starts.
Closer Kyle Narakara has a 1.80 ERA and two saves in five appearances for CSUMB, who will host Cal State-San Marcos today in a 11 a.m. doubleheader.
The Otters are 2-2 in the conference after splitting a four-game series with CSU-East Bay. Prior to that, they took two-of-three from then No. 6 Cal Poly, Pomona in a non-conference series.
San Marcos jumped out to a 10-2 start this year before dropping four consecutive games to open the conference season.
Jacob Tonascia has ripped the ball all over the field for the Otters, hitting .395, while returning all-conference catcher Hayden Duer leads the team in homers (3) and RBI (16).
Last year Duer tied the single-season home run record at CSUMB with 13. Former Monterey High and MPC shortstop turned outfielder Jordan Esposo has a homer to his credit this spring.
