Carmel-Soledad baseball

You would think an 11-1 start would warrant more attention.
Yet, the argument in Soledad's fast start is who have they played?
 Does it matter?
We'll find out today when it hosts defending Mission Trail Athletic League champion Carmel.
Last year the Aztecs started the league season 5-0 and got humbled in two games by Carmel 14-2 and 9-1, never really recovering.
Which makes this game big for Soledad. It's beaten Carmel just once in its last six meetings, and that was at home.
The Padres have rattled off four straight league wins since dropping their first two MTAL games to unbeaten Greenfield.
Wes Noble is coming off a three-hit effort in Carmel's win over Stevenson while Christian Stapleton and Ben Weber have combined for eight homers.
Isaac and Adrian Lopez have ignited a potent Soledad offense while Chris Villarreal has been the ace on the mound, as well as leading the team in runs batted in.
Villarreal has struck out nine in each of his last two starts, with one game only going five innings.
