Stevenson boys hoops

While the return of Parker Olin may be too late for the Pirates to make a run at the Mission Trail Athletic League title, the seniors presence changes this team dramatically for the playoffs.
Olin, who scored 26 points in his MTAL debut on Tuesday, is arguably one of the top five players in the county when healthy.
Olin had gotten off to a sizzling start on the perimeter before being sidelined in the preseason with an elbow injury, once feared to be season ending.
Stevenson can make some noise in the Central Coast Section Division V playoffs with the 6-foot-3 Olin on the outside draining 3's and creating shots for others.
As a sophomore, he sank 89 3-point goals. Last winter Olin was on pace to shatter that mark before breaking his foot and ending his season.
In his absence, Winston Elstob and Ben Stork have helped carry the offense -- even upsetting Pacific Grove. In fact, two of Stevenson's three league losses have been by three points or less.
It doesn't do any good to dwell on what could have been. The fact that Olin is back paints a bright picture for the Pirates in the postseason.
