Monterey-Palma hoops

So the hype isn't quite at the level that it was in that first meeting.
That will happen when the end result is a 17-point beating.
Still, Palma's gym will be packed tonight for the final meeting of the Gabilan Division season.
There's still significance for both teams.
While the Chieftains have already locked up their third consecutive league title, a run of 39 straight Gabilan Division wins is on the line.
The Toreadores, who were 17-0 before being humbled by Palma back on Jan. 24, could solidify a spot in the Open Division playoffs with a win.
Either way Monterey needs to have a better showing then in that first meeting, when it was staring at a 30-point deficit in the first half.
The Toreadores youth and inexperience in a game of that magnitude was exposed. The pressure it was feeling should be gone this time.
Palma, behind likely league MVP Jamaree Bouyea, has been a machine in the Gabilan Division with all 11 wins being by 12 or more points.
