Carmel-Stevenson boys hoops

Both teams are looking up at Pacific Grove. Both still have second half battles with the three-time reigning Mission Trail Athletic League champions remaining on their schedules.
Meaning, both the Pirates and Carmel can control their title hopes. Of course, to put themselves in title contention, tonight is a must win for both teams, who sit one game back.
Carmel won the first encounter 60-48 at home.
Both the Padres and Stevenson have made this journey difficult.
After an emotional win over Pacific Grove last week, the Pirates stay in first place was brief as they were stunned by King City.
Carmel doesn't have a share of first place because of a loss to Soledad.
With Parker Olin out the rest of the regular season with an elbow injury, the Pirates have turned to Ben Stork and Winston Elstob for offense.
Carmel has seen five different players lead them in scoring this year, including former Stevenson post Kevin Cook. Matt Luch and Hayden Stachelek have been productive.
The Padres come into the battle with a four-game winning streak, with three of those coming on the road.
