Not much has changed since these two Mission Trail Athletic League rivals faced off in the season opener on Jan. 10.
Both are unbeaten in league since that epic battle - a 2-1 Carmel win - giving Wednesday's rematch in Soledad a playoff type feeling.
What will be different for the defending MTAL champion Aztecs is they will have Belinda Ascencio in the lineup.
The schools all-time leader in goals missed the Carmel game. Since then Ascencio has made up for lost time with 14 goals during Soledad's five-game winning streak.
Ascencio has 22 goals on the season and 82 goals for her career, as the Aztecs (6-1) have outscored their last five opponents 32-3.
Five of Carmel's (6-0-1) seven league games have been decided by one goal, having allowed just four goals in MTAL play behind goalie Serena Valdez-Klemek.
Offensively Zoe Patterson has 11 goals while Paxton Ataide has had a hand in 10 goals, with a team leading six assists.
