Boys basketball rankings

1. Palma: Saw its 15 game winning streak snapped by St. Ignatius in the Open Division playoffs.
2. Monterey: Biggest win of the year in ending a seven-game quarterfinal losing streak.
3. Pacific Grove: Reigning DIV champions survived a scare in reaching the semifinals.
4. Salinas: Fell in the quarterfinals of the Division I playoffs.
5. Stevenson: Parker Olin is playing as well as anyone in the county.
6. Alisal: Two-time Pacific Division champions likely ticketed to the Gabilan next season.
7. Monte Vista: Upset in the Division IV playoffs by Santa Cruz.
8. Carmel: Were knocked out of the Division IV playoffs by Menlo.
9. North County: Ousted from the postseason in the second round of Division III.
10. Pajaro Valley: Reached the second round of the Division IV playoffs.
 On the bubble: Trinity, Soledad, Alvarez, North Salinas.

Coach Andre Bailey & his Grizzlies are to be commended on an outstanding season! That program has really been upgraded & I hope Coach Bailey gets Coach of the Year considerations. Johnnie Skinner ( Gavilan Assistant Men's Basketball Coach )
