Alisal-Salinas boys hoops

Not that this game needed to be a playoff game to attract a big crowd from both sides.
But it will help fuel tonight's Central Coast Section Division I second round battle at Salinas.
The Pacific Division champion Trojans were impressive in a 70-36 win over Silver Creek Tuesday while Salinas awaited the winner.
The Cowboys closed the Gabilan Division season by winning five of their final six, and will go into the postseason riding a three game winning streak.
Alisal has rattled off 13 straight wins behind a pair of 6-foot-4 beasts in Rene Hurtado and Adriano Betancourt, while sophomore guard Josue Gil-Silva is averaging nearly 14 points a game
Daniel Bost has at times put Salinas in his shoulders, with help from Tim Harper and Jacob Franks. In addition, Yvan Gonzalez has had a handful of double-doubles this winter.
Surprisingly, these two Salinas schools have not faced each other since 2012. The Cowboys have won the last five meetings.
Alisal has not been involved in a game decided by 10 points or less since December 29 -- the last time it lost. Salinas has won its last three games decided by four points or less.
