York Falcons (1-9, 1-9)
It was trial by fire last year for a group of players with little experience or cohesiveness on the court.
York didn't even have a non-league game last season to get their feet wet before the start of league play.
The results weren't completely unexpected as the Falcons stumbled to a 1-9 Coastal Athletic League record.
That being said, a resurgence in interest in the program has surfaced as a record number of players turned out when the season started.
"I see a lot of promising young players filling the gym,'' York coach Josh Leigh said. "I am excited about the upcoming season and the future of York basketball."
Leigh has been attempting to restore the program since it was forced into the MTAL for one season in 2012, going winless while losing games by an average of 40 plus points.
The Falcons haven't had a winning season since.
What will be different this year is York will play in a December tournament to help prepare them for league play.
And three returning starters are back in the fold to help resurrect York, including guard Paolo Garcia, forward Joseph Rhee and center Frankie Kalinski.
Garcia will run the point while Rhee is one of the teams better outside shooters. Kalinski gives them a presence in the paint.
"With the addition of some new young players, along with a few key returning role players, we are looking to build off the chemistry we gained towards the end of last season,'' Leigh said.
While the Falcons won just one game, it changed the complexion of the final two weeks of the year as they were competitive in two of their final three games.
