Serena Benavente

Former Notre Dame High point guard Serena Benavente leads the MLP Bascats USC Heidelberg women’s German professional basketball team in steals, assists and minutes played this season.

Now in her eighth season playing professionally in Europe, the 5-foot-6 former Herald Basketball Player of the Year is logging 27.3 minutes a game, averaging 11.3 points and 4.1 rebounds. Beneavente is averaging a team high 2.7 steals and 3.1 assists.
Benavente lead Notre Dame to its first Central Coast Section Division IV basketball title in 25 years as a senior in 2003, spending the next four years playing at St. Mary’s in Moraga.
