You can make the argument that North Salinas kept the Toreadores from the Pacific Division crown last year.
Monterey lost one game last season. But it was two 1-1 ties with the Vikings that ultimately gave the league title to once-beaten Christopher.
The Toreadores are off to the programs first ever 3-0 start in league play behind Louis Sanchez and Alexis Lara, having outscored league opponents 15-2.
North Salinas has been sensational on defense, having posted seven shutouts in its first 12 overall games behind goalie Javier Cervantes.
Selah Abdulla has been the heart of the offense for the Vikings while Nick Lopez had the only goal in a 1-0 win over Seaside last week.
Prior to falling 2-1 to Palma on Tuesday, North Salinas' only losses on the season were to defending CCS Division I champion Watsonville (1-0) and CCS Division II finalist Alvarez (2-1).
