Alvarez had dropped six of its first eight non-league games while the Condors came into league play riding a three-game losing streak.
None of that matters today.
North County is battle tested, having lost three games by a total of six points, avenging one of those setbacks last Tuesday with a confidence building 15-point win over Notre Dame.
Both teams play tenacious defense as the Condors held Notre Dame to a season low 23 points while Alvarez closed the door in a 37-34 win over Seaside.
North County is capable of filling the rim as three players are averaging 10 or more points a game, including Jocelyn Cazarez, who had 14 in the league opener.
Teammates Rececca Castro and Amanda Torrez also came into league play averaging over 10 points a game.
JJ Chaboya has carried the Eagles attack throughout the season while Esmeralda Navarro has shown flashes offensively.
Alvarez is 3-0 when it scores 40 or more points, 1-6 when it doesn't. That one win, however, came in its Pacific Division opener.
