Pacific Grove-North County boys basketball

As for early season tests, this might mean more to the Condors than Pacific Grove in tonight's battle of unbeatens on the hardwood.
The reigning Central Coast Section Division IV champion Breakers 4-0 start isn't a surprise, not with two-time Mission Trail Athletic League Player of the Year Brad Sendell back.
Sendell, who averaged 16.1 and 17.9 points a game in his last two years, is dropping in 17.3 this fall, while sitting out chunks of time in the fourth quarter.
Despite the loss of the school's all-time scoring leader to graduation, we knew the cupboard was not bare at North County, not with double-double machine Jeremy Heitzman back.
The 6-foot-6 Heitzman is averaging 19.8 points and nearly 13 rebounds a game for the Condors, who are 5-0.
Last season this game was geared as a pop quiz for both teams, although that fizzled when Heitzman missed the game with a concussion, as Pacific Grove rolled to a 38-point win.
As for matchups, look for 6-5 Zack Miller to spend time in the paint defending Heitzman for Pacific Grove.
Miller, who has committed to run track for Harvard, is averaging 11 points and nearly 11 rebounds a game for the Breakers.
For as dominate as Heitzman has been, teammate Abraham Calderon has been sharp on the outside with 13 3-point goals in five games. Pacific Grove had 11 3's in its last game.
The Breakers have asserted themselves in the third quarter this year, outscoring teams 70-34. North County has produced 79 points in the third quarter.
