No program has been involved in more tight games than the Condors, who have played four games decided by five points or less.
Coming up short in three of those four battles is what North County hopes to erase before the start of league play.
Reverse those three setbacks and the Condors would be 6-2 instead of 3-5 going into tonight's game with Marina.
The return of all-leaguer Amanda Torrez has given the Condors leadership. Sandwiched between the senior and returning starter Jocelyn Cazarez is freshman Rebecca Castro.
The trio are all averaging over 10 points a game for first year coach and former Condor Roger Jones, who has a balance of youth and veteran leadership.
The Condors have to do a better job out the gates, having been outscored 109-74 in the first quarter. In their five losses, they have been outscored 73-45 in the first eight minutes.
