Lizzy Tardieu established a new collegiate career high for digs this past season for the nationally ranked University of San Diego volleyball team, surpassing her numbers from the first two years combined with 168.
One of four players on the nations 14th ranked team to play in all 30 matches this season, Tardieu was fourth on the Toreros in digs, averaging just under two per set.
The 5-foot-4 defensive specialist also had 23 assists and eight service aces for the Toreros, who were upset by Baylor in five sets in the NCAA Tournament.
A former four-time member of The Herald’s All-County volleyball team, Tardieu was The Herald’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2014 after earning all-league honors in volleyball, cross country and track and field.
