For a program that didn't beat a team outside the Coastal Athletic League last season, Trinity opened a few eyes with a 41 point win over Watsonville on Monday.
Of course, they are not all going to be that easy, starting tonight against a St. Francis Catholic squad that won 20 games last season.
Nevertheless, it was a statement for a program with goals that go beyond the CAL. New head coach Ty Sims has painted a vision for his players to chase.
Returning Player of the Year Jamez Booker opened the season with a 17 point effort for the Warriors while transfer Vincenzo Mola is a nice compliment on the outside, producing 16 points.
Not only do the Warriors have a new look under Sims, but they have a gym on their new campus to play home games this year. More importantly, practices are no longer a transportation issue.
Bottom line. You're going to win a lot of games when five players are scoring 10 or more points, as was the case on Monday.
