State cross country

CIF State Championships
Saturday at Woodward Park, Fresno, 8:30 a.m.
Six individuals and four teams will spend part of their Thanksgiving weekend in Fresno, taking part Saturday in the State divisional cross country championships.
Among those looking to make an imprint are King City distance ace and reigning three-time Central Coast Section Division IV champion Roman Munoz.
A part of King City's second place state championship team as a sophomore in 2014, the senior is ranked in the top 10 in Division IV.
Chasing him will include Palma sophomores Sam Lavorato and Thomas Padilla. At one point during the season, Lavorato was ranked sixth in the state in Division IV.
The Pacific Division champion is chasing a top 10 finish while Padilla is making his second straight state meet appearance.
Greenfield is sending its boys team to the state finals after capturing the schools first ever CCS team title in Division IV.
Anchoring the reigning two-time Mission Trail Athletic League champions are Julian Arias, Jaime Martinez, Luis Meza, Mauricio Arias, Rigo Garcia, Luis Perez and Rosendo Ramirez.
Distance ace Henry Loh will lead a Pacific Grove unit that includes Jake Alt, Everett Millette, Will Stefanou, Luca Lauritzen, Zach Goodwin and Florin Ballerini.
York is sending a team in Division V that will showcase Kaden Agha, Xander Laney, Tristen Laney, Jaryd Mercer, Alden Sanford, Adam Shapiro and Washakle Tibbitts.
Despite missing most of the season to a leg injury, San Jose State bound Evelin Meza is going back to the state meet for Greenfield for the second straight year.
Meza recovered in time to defend her MTAL title and place among the elite in the CCS Division IV finals. She will be joined in the DIV race by Pacific Grove's Anna Setefanou.
Gabilan Division champion Kayla Clayton of Salinas hit her stride at the right time, qualifying for the Division I state championships.
Anchored by freshmen standout Angela Leavitt, Pacific Division team champion Notre Dame is in the Division V finals.
Leavitt is part of a significant seven that includes Maria Aceves, Alex Alcaraz, Shantal Martinez, Chloe Plumley, Briana Lomeli and Eden Ramirez.
