Friday's game
North County (2-7) at Gilroy (6-3), 7:30 p.m.
The Mustangs have not given up hope of gathering a share of their first league title in nine years, as they sit one game behind Seaside.
A share of the Pacific Division title might be the only way Gilroy sneaks into the playoffs. Last year just one team from the Pacific had enough points to make the postseason.
Only the league champion is guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. Gilroy's only league setback this fall was a 34-32 loss to Seaside.
The Condors have looked like a different team in the second half of the season, scoring 64 points in their last three games, going 2-1 in those battles.
By comparison, North County had produced 59 points in opening the season with six consecutive losses.
Joseph Barrios has been arguably the teams MVP, leading the Condors in all-purpose yards, as well as touchdowns and interceptions.
Sophomore Joseph Barnes has rushed for over 1,200 yards and has scored 17 touchdowns for Gilroy while Dylan Holler is chasing 1,000 yards on the ground.

Both RLS and Gilroy have a GOOD chance of making the play-offs. This according to PAL Booster who has a solid record of charting the play-off possibilities. Here is what he said after last week's games:
Mission Trail – The automatic berths have been clinched by Carmel and Soledad. A Carmel win this week or a Soledad loss makes Carmel the sole league champion. Pacific Grove is sitting with 17 points and can add 2 points and make the play-offs by upsetting Carmel. Stevenson ends at 18.42 with a win over Marina which will leave them on the bubble currently projected as last team in.
Pacific - Seaside clinched the league’s automatic spot. A Seaside win or Gilroy lose makes them sole champion. Gilroy has 19 points and will get to 21 if they win as favored against North Monterey County.
Santa Cruz Coast League – Even though a San Lorenzo Valley upset over Aptos would create a three way tie for the league championship the automatic berths would still go to Aptos and Scotts Valley. SLV sits at 17.5 points and would gain 2.33 points by beating Aptos and 0.5 for Homestead beating Cupertino which would give them an at-large berth.
