The former Central Coast Section singles tennis champion reached the finals of the ITA Northeast Regionals for the University of Penn before falling in the championship match.
Pompan, who is beginning his junior year as a team captain for Penn, won five consecutive matches to reach the finals.
He was also part of the Quakers best run in the doubles competition, as he teamed with Thomas Spratt to reach the round of 16 before falling to the events top seed.
Pompan was a four-year letterman at York School, winning the Mission Trail Athletic League and Central Coast Section singles titles as a senior in 2013.
