CSUMB, which opens CCAA play on Friday, hosting CSU-East Bay, is coming off a nailbitting 73-72 win over Dominican University.
The Otters showed good balance against Dominican as nine different players scored seven or more points, including 6-3 freshman Jahvon Johnson, who dropped in a team high 16.
Head coach Rob Bishop's freshmen class has turned some heads as Kevin Warren leads the team in scoring at 14 points a game while Stephen Matthews is adding 8.2 points.
In addition, 6-4 guard Shawn Smith has shown flashes of why he previously played at Texas A&M, averaging just under 12 points a night.
