Greenfield-Soledad football

Friday's game
Greenfield (3-6) at Soledad (6-3), 7:30 p.m.
The playoff bound Aztecs have won the last five meetings between the two schools -- who came in together in 1999 -- holding a 10-7 series lead.
Emmanuel Ortega is over 1,000 yards rushing for the second straight year for Soledad, who is still clinging to hopes of gathering at least a share of the Mission Trail Athletic League title.
The Aztecs have won their last 10 league games at home, averaging 31.3 points a game, allowing 17.1 points.
If Hector Ramirez is going to break the Greenfield single season rushing record, he'll have to do it against arguably the best defense in the MTAL.
The senior tailback has chalked up 1,413 yards this fall, needing 77 yards in his final game to break the record.
Ramirez has rushed for over 100 yards in eight of the Bruins nine games, and has produced 15 of the teams 27 touchdowns this season.
Soledad's defense has recorded 45 sacks this year, 12 from Daniel Contawe. Andrew Hernandez has an MTAL best 123 tackles.

Whoa there. "Arguably the best defense in the MTAL"?

Carmel has given up 141 points…99 points in league play.

Soledad has given up 159 points…100 in league play.

Carmel gave up 38 points to Marina…and somebody is going to tell me those were scored against Carmel's first or even second team defense? So take away 24 of those and Carmel has allowed 75 points in league play.

Yes, KC scored 24 on Carmel's defense…but then Gonzales scored 21 on Soledad's defense.

Carmel scored 32 on Soledad's defense.

Not sure what measurement tool you are using to say that the Aztecs have "arguably the best defense in the MTAL".
