Redshirt freshmen defensive end Dariyn Choates has played his way into the starting lineup for the Sacramento State football team.
Choates, who prepped at Seaside High, has 19 tackles in nine games, with two being for losses. The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder is a pass rusher, that has also broken up one pass for the Hornets.
