San Benito-Salinas volleyball

 Lets not kid ourselves.
Tonight's battle is for the Gabilan Division title.
Redemption will be on the minds of Salinas tonight when it hosts defending league champion and co-leading San Benito.
For starters, the Balers sent Salinas down to its only league loss this season -- humbling them with a sweep in Hollister.
San Benito also ended the Cowboys four-year run as league champions last season.
The chemistry on the court that was missing earlier this year has connected in the second half of the season for Salinas, who has put the ball into the hands of setter Kamryn Sutton.
The senior has compiled over 400 assists this season, with nearly 50 percent of them going to junior Taylor Rose, who has been a beast at the net.
While Rose is the cornerstone of the attack, contributions of late have come from Sam Shaffer and Kathleen Bass, giving opponents something else to concern themselves with.
San Benito has arguably two of the best hitters in the league in returning all-leaguers Marisa Villegas and Lauren Sabbatini, who are both chasing 300 kills this season.
Double one and deal with the other. Setter Kieley Hoskins has compiled nearly 650 sets assists while Nicole Andrade has 320 digs. Hoskins also has 50 service aces.
For all the power at the net, defense will dictate the outcome. Isabelle Mandon has been one of the top defensive specialists in the county for Salinas.
