Pure domination.
It's been like this since Week 3 for the Chieftains. Even worse since the start of Gabilan Division play.
All those snickers after Palma's Week 1 beat down by North Coast Section power Sutter have been silenced.
Why wake up a sleeping giant on social media.
The Chieftains have run through the Gabilan Division this fall, outscoring their first five opponents 171-33. The reality is it hasn't been that close.
Now, this isn't anything unusual. Since the Gabilan Division was formed, Palma has gone 27-1 with 10 straight league wins. It's won or shared all four titles.
Granted, a showdown with unbeaten San Benito looms in two weeks -- the only team to beat Palma since the Gabilan was formed.
While it's likely circled on the calendar, I doubt Palma is looking ahead. There's a different vibe with this group.
A quiet confidence that oozes out.
As dynamic as record setting tailback Emilio Martinez has been, the Chieftains defense has been flat out filthy behind Stanford bound Drew Dalman, who had a pick six Friday.
Oh, Palma is undefeated this year when quarterback Zach Flores tosses a touchdowns pass, winless when he doesn't. A coincidence?
