MPC-West Hills football

Friday's game
Monterey Peninsula (6-0) at West Hills (4-2), 7 p.m.
Kody Steele has been sensational since his return from an injury for the states No. 22 ranked team, throwing for over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns in three games for the Lobos
A pair of Michael's as in Armstead and Williams, have combined for 54 catches and 13 touchdowns for MPC, with Armstead chasing a 1,000 yard receiving season.
A running back by committee approach is creating enough yards to keep opponents honest in their defensive schemes. Akili Jones has a team leading three rushing touchdowns.
Linebacker and Seaside High grad Andrew Jakubowsky continues to lead the team in tackles with 50 while Alvarez alum Anthony McKay has seven sacks in five games.
West Hills, the defending conference champion, has won four straight after opening the season with two straight losses.

Defensively, it has forced 15 turnovers this year with 12 sacks. MPC is minus three in turnover ratio.
