Gonzales football

Injuries are always an issue when you don't have a lot of depth. Gonzales got hit hard with injuries before league play even began.
How many teams are using their third quarterback when the roster sits at 24 players?
Yet, the Spartans offense has been productive with receiver-turned-quarterback Jose Espinosa behind center.
While it hasn't translated to wins, Espinosa tossed two touchdowns and ran for a pair in Friday's loss to Pacific Grove.
The Spartans are averaging 27 points a game in three MTAL games, mainly on the arm of Espinosa and a talented core of receivers.
No doubt, some of those points are coming after opponents have built a big lead. But there's been no quit in Gonzales, which forces teams to keep there starters in.
Defensively, Gonzales just can't get a big stop after the offense provides a little momentum, as it is allowing 47 points a game.
