Saturday's game
Alisal (0-8) vs. North County (2-6) at Alvarez, 2 p.m.
The Condors are enjoying a bit of a resurgence with two straight wins after snapping an eight-game losing streak dating back to last year.
North County has produced 58 points in its two wins. By comparison, it had mustered just 59 points in its first six games of the season.
It's been a season of struggle for Alisal first year coach Cesar Chaidez, who has talked all year about changing the culture of the program.
While the Trojans have been competitive, have even lead in four games this year, their struggles in the second half continue, having been outscored 82-18 in the second half.
Quarterback Steven Flores has ignited the offense for North County, with Joseph Barrios leading the team in rushing and receiving yards, scoring two more touchdowns last week.
Yet, the biggest change for the Condors might be the effort on defense, having allowed just 14 points in each of their two wins, as opposed to 30 points a game in six setbacks.
A ball hawking Condors defense had three interceptions last week from Barrios, Jesus Avalos and Jose Esparza
