San Jose-MPC football

Saturday's game
San Jose (0-2) at Monterey Peninsula (2-0), 6 p.m.
Anchored by linebacker Andrew Jakubowsky and his 19 tackles, the Lobos are undefeated thanks to a filthy defense that has allowed just six points all year.
The former Seaside standout, who shared the team lead in tackles last year at MPC, also has a pick to his credit.
Getting defensive lineman Anthony McKay back last week shored up the interior line as the former Alvarez product had seven tackles in his return for MPC.
Freshman quarterback Davona Blake is 17-of-21 for 231 yards and three touchdowns since filling in for the injured Kody Steele -- two of those scoring strikes going to Michael Williams.
While the Lobos are averaging 3.3 yards on the ground, the reality is 115 of their 275 rushing yards have come on two plays.
Opponents are averaging nearly 200 yards rushing against the Jaguars, who have allowed 73 points in their first two games.
Quarterback Delmon Williams has thrown for 438 yards and three touchdowns for San Jose, was has dropped four straight dating back to last year.
Former Monte Vista Christian 1,000 plus yard tailback D'Shawn Hopkins is among the Jaguars team leaders in tackles as a defensive back with 13, with an interception. He's also the teams kicker.
