Seaside football

Erase the word potential from Seaside.
Granted the Spartans are far from where they could be in 10 weeks.
That defense, though is legit, forcing three turnovers, including an 81-yard interception from Daniel Sayre in a 26-10 win over Soledad.
This is a punishing group of defenders that play with an edge and emotion, with motors that run for four quarters.
Now can the Spartans erase the mental mistakes to become a lethal program?
First game jitters are one thing. But 22 penalties for 218 yards is a bit extreme. Seaside has got to clean that up. And it understands that.
Because this offense, behind tailback Keishawn Robinson, will be explosive if it can eliminate the penalties that pushed them back for nearly as many yards as Seaside gained.
Keep in mind this is still a young group of players are still building chemistry. The upside could be scary good.
