Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte made a mistake.
What teenager or young adult hasn't done something foolish?
The problem is the Olympic gold medalist is 31 years old.
Now, he didn't abuse a women or beat someone senseless.
But Lochte allegedly did drink too much and got abusive with a bathroom door at a gas station in Rio.
My guess is he probably didn't expect a security guard at a gas station to be carrying heat.
Yet, it could have all ended there after he and three other US swimmers paid for the damage.
Instead, he choose to talk openly about it on national television, albeit a fabricated version.
My guess is Lochte didn't realize there are 10,000 security cameras in the heart of Rio.
He got out of Brazil. But his three swimming teammates did not, having been left to answer questions, passports taken away.
It's one thing to make a fool of yourself. But don't embarrassment your country or piss off another country on one of sports' biggest stages.
This wasn't a big deal until the story changed.
Now it's become the hottest topic at the Olympics games.
Lochte finally found a way to overshadow Michael Phelps. My guess, though, is this wasn't part of  his plan.
