The former Palma sharpshooting guard has transferred from UCLA to Hawaii, where the senior will be eligible to play immediately after graduating in three years at UCLA.
The 6-foot-6 Allen played in 24 of the Bruins 32 basketball games last season, averaging 6.4 minutes a game. He had a season high six points in a loss to USC.
Because of a series of sanctions handed down by the NCAA, Hawaii will not be postseason eligible this season. Despite the ban, Allen choose to transfer, where he is expected to contend for a starting job.
Allen’s best season might have been his sophomore year where he received extensive time off the bench, providing the Bruins with a defensive lift in the NCAA Tournament.
During his four years at Palma, Allen scored over 1,000 points, averaging 18 plus points a game in his final three years, leading the team to two league titles.
