Marc Flores

It was a good week for former King City High three-sport standout.
In addition to being named the Frontier League’s Player of the Week, the left-handed swinging first baseman was also selected to the all-star team for the first place Joliet Slammers.
Flores, who also played at Hartnell College, hit .500 last week for the Slammers, improving his season average to .298 with nine homers and 41 runs batted in through 46 games.
Nearly half of the 6-foot-5 Flores’s hits have gone for extra bases in the Independent League. The 23-year-old leads the Slammers in sacrifice flies and is second in runs batted in and doubles.
Flores earned all conference honors at Hartnell before spending two years at the University of Hawaii, where he was drafted in the 30th round by the Chicago White Sox.
Released by the White Sox after a year in their farm system, Flores has spent the last two years in the Frontier League.
