The King City lineman made an impact last year on the defensive side of the ball, recovering three fumbles and intercepting a pass, while averaging five tackles a game.
Labeled one of the top returning players for King City this fall, Near could also start on the offensive side of the ball. At the very least, he'll provide depth in the trenches.
