Carl Nicks will headline a list of six individuals that will be inducted in October into the Hartnell College Athletic Hall of Fame for 2016.
Nicks, a two-time all-pro offensive guard that helped New Orleans to the franchises first Super Bowl, spent six seasons in the NFL before a toe injury prematurely ended his career in Tampa Bay in 2014.A North Salinas High graduate, Nicks was the highest paid offensive guard in the NFL in 2013. An all-American offensive lineman at Hartnell in 2005, he also competed in track.
Also being enshrined on Oct. 29 will be one time basketball standout Dwight Holiday, wrestling and football standout Mark Sindel, former pitcher Jason Porto, Hartnell heptathlon record holder Felicia Brown and volleyball star Martha Getris-Utschig.
Hartnell is also inducting former football and golf coach Arvin Smith, basketball coaching icon Len Wilkins and long-time volleyball coach Carolyn West Karnofel.
In addition, the 1975 golf team, 1980 volleyball team, the 1997 women's track and field team and the 2000 men’s track and field team will be honored.
