The junior had a rifle for an arm last year for North Salinas, throwing for over 1,700 yards. He either rushed or threw for 25 touchdowns.
Burkhardt did not toss an interception in six league games last fall, leading the Vikings to a Pacific Division title and a return to the Gabilan this fall. He also rushed for a team high 601 yards.
