Jack Powers

The Palma High grad, who gave up his football scholarship last year at Arizona State, has resurfaced and will play football in the fall at the University of Virginia.

A back up offensive lineman in his first two years at Arizona State, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound Powers will be eligible to play this year because he remained at ASU and graduated.
Powers, who played in all 14 games for the Sun Devils bowl bound team in 2014, is switching sides and will be used this year as a defensive end at Virginia. The Palma product still has two years of eligibility left.
