Female Athlete of the Year honorable mention list
Tatumn Satow, Santa Catalina: A four-year starter in volleyball and softball, Satow was a member of The Herald's All-county volleyball and softball teams this past year.
Bound for Cal next year in softball as an infielder, Satow hit. 583 for the Cougars with 42 hits. She lead the team in doubles with 12 and drove in 28 runs and scored 43.
On the volleyball court, Satow was among the team leaders in kills, digs and service aces, helping lead them to a Mission Trail Athletic League title.
Aly Carroll, King City: A member of The Herald's all-county basketball team, Carroll was a double-double machine for the Mustangs, averaging 12 points and 10 rebounds a game, recording 38 blocks.
The 5-foot-11 senior was a factor at the net in volleyball for King City, leading the team in blocks while producing over 100 kills.
Carroll was a point producer in track, finishing third in the Mission Trail Athletic League in both the high jump and long jump.
Kate Lathos, Notre Dame: Excelling in three sports, Lathos earned all-league honors in volleyball, compiling 214 kills, 140 digs and 48 services aces for CCS Division V champions.
Transitioning to basketball, the senior lead the Spirits in rebounds while averaging nearly 10 points a game in the post.
Lathos finished fourth at the Gabilan Division track and field championships in the shot put (32-4) and fifth in the discus.
Kimi Chin, Salinas: A three-sport standout for the Cowboys, Chin was the Gabilan Division's Player of the Year in soccer for the league champions.
Tenacious on defense, Chin finished as the team in leader in assists while producing four goals.
The sophomore was also part of Salinas' No. 1 doubles team last fall in tennis and provided points for the track in the field team this past spring.
Lauren Salvati, Carmel: While Salvati earned all-county honors in softball, she will take her talents in college to soccer.
Hitting at the top of the order for the Mission Trail Athletic League champions, Salvati hit .478 with half of her hits going for extra bases.
Salvati reached in all 18 games she played in this spring, compiling 28 hits while scoring 22 runs.
The senior will put all her attention towards soccer this coming fall in college after leading Carmel in goals last season.
