League track finals

Numerous streaks will be at stake this week as the league track and field finals for three leagues in the region heat up on Friday and Saturday.
As dominate as Palma has been during its run of four straight Gabilan Division titles, one for the thumb will be its biggest challenge.
The Chieftains will go into the Gabilan finals on Friday at Gilroy having dropped two league dual meets for the first time in five years.
On the other side, San Benito is clearly the class of the girls division in its bid for a third straight league title behind distance ace Marisa Villegas.
Running simultaneously at Gilroy will also be the Pacific Division finals, where Alvarez is looking to make school history by winning both the boys and girls team titles.
The Eagles were undefeated in the Pacific in dual meet competition for the first time in the programs 20 plus years.
The Mission Trail Athletic League finals are moving to King City, where the championships will be staged on Saturday.
Behind sprinter Mikayla Revera and freshman Lauren Wong, Santa Catalina is the heavy favorites to win its fourth straight girls title.
Host King City will pile up significant points in the distance events behind Roman Munoz and the weight events with Jarod Davis, as it bids to four-peat as league champions.
Two records that could be in jeopardy include the girls pole vault, where Wong has sailed a best of 11-9, while Pacific Grove's Zack Miller will chase the boys 200 and 400 meter marks.
