Carmel-Santa Catalina softball

While the Padres have locked up their first Mission Trail Athletic League title in 11 years, pride is still on the line for reigning five-time champion Santa Catalina.
What better way to ride into the postseason then to end the regular season with a confidence building win against an opponent Santa Catalina could see again in the playoffs.
Carmel is looking for a high seed in the CCS Division III playoffs. Having rattled off 11 consecutive wins, closing the season with a win could vault them to a No. 2 or 3 seed.
Danielle Caoili has pitched and hit the Padres to 20 wins this season, having hit four home runs and driven in 27 runs. Rachael Carroll, Ashlyn Davis and Lauren Salvati have all stung the ball as well.
The Cougars have had to turn to Cal bound shortstop and reigning MTAL co-MVP Tatumn Satow to pitch after losing Lauren Garcia, who was hit in the face by a line drive and lost for the season.
Satow and Marissa Bruno have been two of the top hitters in the county, which is why teams have wisely pitched around the pair.
