Stevenson-Catalina softball

If the Cougars have aspirations of keeping their dynasty in the Mission Trail Athletic League intact, it will need a redemption run in the finals three weeks.
Sitting a game back with five remaining, two of those opponents are teams that knocked off the reigning five-time MTAL champions earlier this year on the road.
This time the showdowns will be at Santa Catalina -- owners of 13 straight home wins -- including Thursday's rematch with Stevenson, who also sits a game back.
The Pirates used a gem from pitcher Jensen Main and her bat to hand Santa Catalina a 7-3 loss on March 22.
A pitchers dual is expected from Main, the reigning co-MTAL Most Valuable Player, and four year hurler Lauren Garcia, who was victimized in the first game by four errors.
Seniors Tatumn Satow and Marissa Bruno have carried the Cougars offense all season, as has Main, Dominique Seva'aetasi and Ellie Yamashita of Stevenson.
Santa Catalina's last home loss in league play occurred two years ago to Main and the Pirates.
